Dutch Holographics Laboratory Featured in 3Blue1Brown Latest Video
October 2024
Dear valued partners, clients, and holography enthusiasts,
We are thrilled to announce that Dutch Holographic Laboratory has been mentioned in the latest video by the renowned educational YouTube channel, 3Blue1Brown, which focuses on explaining complex mathematical concepts with stunning clarity. This recognition comes in the context of their fascinating exploration of holography, a subject that lies at the heart of our research and development efforts.
The video highlights the incredible science behind holograms and how mathematics can bring light-based illusions to life—subjects we at Dutch Holographics Laboratory are deeply passionate about. Being featured by such an influential platform is a great honor, and we are excited to see broader attention being brought to the cutting-edge field of holographic technology.
We would like to extend our gratitude to 3Blue1Brown for showcasing this fascinating aspect of our work, and we invite you to watch the video and learn more about the beauty of holography. Around 0:43 and 2:49, you can see our Hologram of World Famous Hologram being showcased. Stay tuned for more innovations as we continue to push the boundaries of holographic technology!
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Sincerely,
The Dutch Holographics Laboratory Team,
Luka Rurua
Science Center Exhibition
October 2017
Dutch Holographic Laboratory is hosting a holographic exhibition in the Science Center of TU Delft from October 7th until October 11th.
This exhibition will be widely accessible to visitors of the Science Center from October 7th until October 8th. The Science Center's primary aim is to make young people enthusiastic about technology and to bring them more understanding and interest in the way technical problems are solved and how technology creates new opportunities.
On October 8th, 9th, and 10th, the holography exhibition will be part of the Face2Phase conference organized on the initiative of the TU Delft Imaging Physics faculty in collaboration with Photonics.nl and SPIE.
Dutch Holographic Laboratory exhibits 11 major holograms, including:
- The renowned Microscope hologram, integrating the microscope’s function into the hologram.
- Brick, which combines horizontal and vertical parallax for realism.
- Large holograms (100x200cm) of the Shroud of Turin, demonstrating 3D hologram creation from historical 2D objects.
- Situational Awareness, showcasing dense information capture in holographic gratings.

High Efficiency Digital holoprinter now available!
Dutch Holographic Laboratory released the Digital Full Color holoprinter in 1997. This printer is an add on to your normal Holographic setup for 2D/3D graphics art. It allows you to make fully automated digital 3D computer generated holograms and multiple photo generated holograms. It also allows fully automated 2D/3D recording (without the intermediate step of using litho's) of holograms. The 1997 release could only print holograms up to 20x25 cm (8x10 inch). At the end of 1999 holograms up to 30x40 cm (12x16 inch) could be printed, due to a new Slitholder. The latest development in the Digital holoprinter is the use of a Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) in stead of a LCD screen for recording the holograms. This brings within reach the possibility to produce larger holograms with higher contrast. And the use of a DMD may lead to the use of new types of Holographic material. The new Digital holoprinter can also be used for reflection hologram Mastering...
You'll find more details about the Digital Full Color holoprinter, the renewed slitholder and the DMD at the holoprinter Page. Click at the holoprinters TAB or the image of the holoprinter Kit...
